BLOG TIPS

First of all, what is a blog?
The term "blog" was derived by shortening "web log" and is a type of website that is updated regularly with an array of content including text, images and video.

Blogs can be a way to record your thoughts like you would in a journal or provide commentary on news and current happenings. A blog can be anything you want it to be - it is a great way to utilize your creativity, share your thoughts, and best of all, connect with others!

Why did Vanati create the Soul Connection blog - ConnectWithYourSoul.blogspot.com?
We started our blog to provide a resource to those who are seeking spiritual enlightenment and a deepened connection with their Soul. The Soul Connection blog is updated regularly with relaxing videos, beautiful images, and inspirational words to use on your path to enlightenment.

Why should I join the Soul Connection blog's community?

Joining makes it easy to stay up date with all of our posts and allows you to leave comments about the posts you like to share your own ideas with others.

How can I join the Soul Connection blog's community?
It's really easy - it will just take a few moments to do.

1. The first step is to create a Yahoo, Google or AIM account if you do not already have one. (We like Google the best..but you can click on any one of these to be directed to the set up page to get started)

2. Visit the Soul Connection Blog at ConnectWithYourSoul.blogspot.com

3. Scroll Down a bit until you see "Join Our Community!" on the right side of the page and click on "Follow"

4. Enter your information from your Yahoo, Google or AIM account as prompted.

5. On the next screen, you can edit your name (Maybe you just want to use your first name? Or a nickname? This is the place to change it) and you can upload a profile picture if you would like (But you don't have to!)

6. Select between "Follow Publicly" or "Follow Privately". We suggest following Publicly, but not using your real, full name to avoid privacy concerns.

7. On the next screen, you will be able to invite friends to check out the Soul Connection Blog, or View your Dashboard.

8. Now you can go back to the Soul Connection blog - Congrats! You have officially joined the community!

What is a "Dashboard"?
A dashboard is an easy reference for you to organize and manage multiple blogs and websites you follow all on one page. If the Soul Connection blog is the only blog you plan to follow for now, you can just add the blog's home page (ConnectWithYourSoul.blogspot.com) to your favorites.

What is a "Post"?
Each time Vanati makes an entry onto the blog, it is called a "post". The content of the blog is made up of multiple "posts", and by "posting" onto the blog, we can all stay connected!

Will it cost any money?
Nope. That's just one more great thing about blogging. It's Free!

I'm concerned about privacy. How can I make sure I stay anonymous?
No worries. As suggested, in the answers above, just use your first name or a name you create just for your online interactions. We find this is a great way to write your private and personal thoughts more freely.

FACEBBOOK TIPS

Ok, so I've obviously heard of it, but really, what is Facebook?

Facebook is currently the largest SOCIAL NETWORKING website founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. Facebook can be used for an array of reasons including staying in touch with friends, family and co-workers, as well as connecting to those who live in your region, share your interests, and so, so much more.

How do I sign up?
Follow this link to sign up for Facebook and become a fan of the Vanati page -
Click Here to Sign Up and Be a Vanati Fan and fill in the requested information fields. You will need an email address - you can create one here: Google or Yahoo

Or, you can set up your account by going directly to Facebook, and then once you are signed up, you can use the search bar in the upper right corner of the screen to search for Vanati and "Become a Fan" of our Page.

So, I set up an account. Now what?
Explore! When you first sign up, there will be three options (options as in "optional"!) at the top of your screen:

Find People You Know
Use this to search for family, friends, and co-workers. You can enter your email information to have Facebook search your email contact list to notify people you have joined Facebook. Everyone will be happy to see you!

Suggestions
These are people Facebook thinks you might know based on information like the college you attended or the town you live in. Pretty neat huh?

Search for People

This can is probably the most useful way to find someone specific. This is found on the bottom of the page. Here you can search people's names and send them "Friend Request"

Share with your Friends

Post thoughts or current activity for your "status", post links to your website or websites you want to tell others about, and add photos and videos. Information entered here will come up on your friend's pages for them to see, as well as appear on your page to serve as a reference if you want to use the link in the future and for others to see when they visit your page.

What is a "Friend Request"?
To protect your privacy, Facebook does not let just everybody view everybody's page, which is one of the great things about Facebook.

When someone sends you a Friend Request, it will appear on the right side of your Facebook home page under "Requests". When you click on "friend requests" you will be directed to a page that allows you to confirm or ignore people's request.

If you "Confirm", you are now friends! If you do not recognize the person's name, you can click on their profile picture to learn a little more about them, or if you prefer, you can "Ignore" their request. This person will NOT receive a notification you ignored their request and you will not be Friends with this person.

Once you are friends with people, you can look around their page, post messages to their wall, and look at their photo albums and videos. They will in return, be able to look at your page too!

What is the difference between being a "Friend" and being a "Fan"?
To us, this is just a technical difference. We are friends with all of our fans! But to define the difference:
Friend is a connection with people, whereas Fan is a connection with a business. Also, Friends can view your page and you theirs, but Fan means you can view the Page, but the business can NOT view your page.

How do I make sure my page is very private?
By default, Facebook makes it so only people who you are "Friends" with can view your page, but to make it extra secure, you can adjust your security settings by going to Settings - Privacy Settings which can be found in the

upper right hand corner of your screen. Here you can block people, adjust settings, and more.

What is Social Networking?
The great knowledge source, WIKIPEDIA, defines social networking as:
"A social network service focuses on building online communities of people who share interests and/or activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others. Most social network services are web based and provide a variety of ways for users to interact."
